ECONOMY- We need to stop the out-of-control spending that threatens our nation's fiscal security. We must cut spending across the board and stop the expansion of entitlement programs. "If your outgo exceeds your income, then your upkeep will be your downfall." -Bill Earle
GOVERNMENT REFORM- The problems facing our citizens should be solved at the smallest levels of government possible. The most impactful level of government should be your local government. All levels of government should have to live on a balanced budget, and when necessary they should have to make cuts and sacrifices just like the people they govern.
TAX REFORM- We must simplify the tax code with a fair tax. A fair tax in conjunction with a Balanced Budget Amendment would preserve the value of the American dollar and empower the American people with the power of the purse string. Our government has to realize that all taxes and fees levied on the business owner eventually find themselves on the doorstep of the employee and consumer. We need to put the money back into the hands of the tax payers, all American taxpayers, and we must work to eliminate corporate taxes and the family-farm killing "Death Tax."
GUN CONTROL- The second amendment was put into the Bill of Rights to protect the rights of patriots to defend their Constitution. It is the people's part of an intricate checks and balance system that our framers put in place to keep government in its place.
JOB CREATION- Government cannot create jobs, but it has created an atmosphere that prohibits free market businesses from growing and expanding. We must produce legislation that creates an environment that is conducive to the development of small business entrepreneurship; giving all Americans the opportunity to go after their version of the American Dream.
WELFARE- We need to ensure that all Americans have equal access to the American Dream. Americans should not be held captive to a system of welfare that deprives them of their rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
EDUCATION- Vouchers can create competition in the education field. Competition is the best thing to encourage and obtain the best results. We need to also appreciate the value of homeschooling as an effective educational tool.
HEALTH CARE- Regulations do nothing but coerce private companies into doing what the federal government wishes them to do. We need to realize that the problems we face with regards to medical health care costs have been imposed upon us by the regulations government places on health care related industries. We must also recognize that the Federal Government was not granted the authority to oversee Americans' health care.
ABORTION- Our Declaration states that we shall recognize all individuals’ rights to “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness…” and that said, rights are not only reserved for the individual, but for their “posterity” as well. As posterity means "one's descendants," I interpret that to say that any man or woman or child, born or unborn, shall be granted the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
PERSONAL VALUES- We all have some degree of morality. It shall be up to each individual to determine what that level of morality is. As long as it does not infringe upon the rights, liberty, property, or prosperity of any other. Morality and virtue are not things that any government entity should attempt to legislate. A government should be instituted to allow each individual to establish their own level of morality and virtue.
